How Preserved Legacy started:

 

Preserved Legacy was birthed out of a deep longing to know about my fathers life from the perspective of those who knew and loved him.

Amidst the tears and laughter on the funeral day, as story after story about how he touched the lives of various individuals was told, it began to dawn on me that there was so much about my dad that I and my family had not fully appreciated.

As we heard how great a schoolteacher he was from one of his students from the 1960's and how he often rescued another family member out of trouble from his dad as a troublesome teenager.

 

 As days turned into months and months turned into years the memories and stories we had heard became even more precious...but how would we make sure that our children heard these stories, and what about their children, and so the vision was born.

I decided that the great man that my father was, the impact that he had on me, and not only me but so many others would be told... to as many people as would care to hear it, I wish this was done while he was alive but though he is not here now, the things he said, the things he loved, the things he taught us, the highs and the lows, they will be immortalized by the telling and re-telling of his life story... And so Preserved Legacy was born.
